End-User License Agreement
ImportTools — 14-day trial license. The whole extension, with nothing held back.
Last revised: September 12, 2026
This End User License Agreement (the “Agreement”) is between you and StepUp CAD LLC, a Utah limited liability company (“StepUp CAD,” “we,” or “us”). It covers the StepUp CAD SketchUp extensions and any updates we make available (the “Software”).
You accept this Agreement by ordering, downloading, installing or using the Software. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it. If you do not accept, do not install or use the Software.
1. What you may do
We grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to install and use the Software for your own work, commercial work included, subject to this Agreement. A purchased licence is perpetual — it does not expire, and it continues to work for the version it was issued for. The Software is licensed, not sold.
2. Seats
One licence covers one seat. You may install that seat on two computers you personally use — a desktop and a laptop, for instance — provided only one of them is running the Software at a time. Anything beyond that needs another licence, including use on a shared or virtual machine that more than one person works on at once.
Seats can be moved between people or machines. Email support@stepupcad.com and we will transfer it.
3. Trial licences
A trial licence gives you the whole product for a stated period, with nothing withheld. It stops working when that period ends.
The period starts when the trial is issued, not when you first install it, so a trial can expire without ever being used. One trial per email address per product. Do not take further trials to extend an evaluation past its period.
4. What you may not do
You may not, and may not let anyone else:
- run the Software on more machines at once than you hold licences for;
- share, publish, resell, rent, lease or sublicense the Software or a licence key, or use either to provide a service to third parties;
- modify, translate or create derivative works from the Software, except where this Agreement or the law allows it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except to the extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- interfere with, bypass or defeat the licence checks, alter a licence key or its expiry, or attempt to generate keys; or
- remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or ownership notice in the Software or its output.
Licences are verified on your own computer, so some of the above is technically possible without our being able to stop it. It is still a breach of this Agreement, and doing it ends your licence under section 11.
5. The Software is not an engineered design
The Software is a modelling and fabrication-output tool. It performs no structural analysis and no building-code checking, and nothing it produces is an engineered, certified or stamped design.
Output — including STEP and DXF files, dimensions, quantities, cut lengths, hole positions and joinery — is a starting point for your own process, not a substitute for it. You are responsible for checking it against your drawings, your standards and your equipment before anything is cut, fabricated, installed or relied on. Where a licensed engineer, an inspection or a code review is required, this Software does not replace any of them.
6. Ownership
StepUp CAD and its licensors own the Software and every intellectual property right in it. You receive the licence described in this Agreement and nothing else. Models, drawings and exported files you create with the Software are yours; we claim no rights in your work.
7. Updates and support
Updates within the version series your licence was issued for are included at no charge. We may charge for a future major version. We may change, add to or discontinue features, and we are not obliged to keep supporting older SketchUp releases or operating systems.
8. Privacy and activation
Our privacy policy explains what we collect. Activating a licence sends your licence key to us once, and we record that it was activated. That is the only request the Software makes to us: afterwards your licence is checked on your own computer, and no telemetry, usage data or model data is ever sent.
Activation needs an internet connection. If the machine you are installing on has none, contact us and we will activate it another way.
9. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our refund policy, which forms part of this Agreement. In short: within 14 days of purchase, if the Software will not install or run on a supported SketchUp Pro version after you have followed the install guide, contact us and we will refund it.
10. Export controls and applicable law
The Software may be subject to United States export control law. You agree not to export, re-export or supply it in breach of those controls — including to any embargoed country, or to any person or entity on a United States government restricted-party list — and not to use it in connection with weapons of mass destruction. You also agree to comply with all other laws that apply to your download and use of the Software.
11. Term and termination
This Agreement runs until terminated. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Software and deleting your copies. Your rights end automatically if you breach it, and you must then stop using the Software and remove it.
12. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEPUP CAD DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, THAT IT WILL RUN WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR ERROR, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, THAT IT WILL WORK WITH ANY SOFTWARE, MACHINE OR CONTROLLER WE HAVE NOT NAMED, OR THAT ITS OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR FIT FOR FABRICATION. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION FROM US CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT STATED HERE.
THE SOFTWARE IS NOT DESIGNED FOR, AND MUST NOT BE USED IN, ANY APPLICATION WHERE ITS FAILURE COULD LEAD TO DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, OR SEVERE PHYSICAL OR ENVIRONMENTAL HARM.
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEPUP CAD WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST GOODWILL, LOST OR CORRUPTED DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, DELAY, REWORK, SCRAPPED OR MISCUT MATERIAL, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SOFTWARE OR SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE OR THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. THESE LIMITS APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
14. Where these limits do not apply
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or limits on incidental or consequential damages, so parts of sections 12 and 13 may not apply to you. Where that is so, those sections apply to the maximum extent the law allows.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold StepUp CAD harmless from any claim, loss, damage, judgment or reasonable legal cost arising from your use of the Software or your breach of this Agreement. We will tell you promptly in writing about any such claim.
16. Survival
Sections 4 (What you may not do), 5 (Not an engineered design), 6 (Ownership), 10 (Export controls and applicable law), 12 (Disclaimer of warranties), 13 (Limitation of liability), 14 (Where these limits do not apply), 15 (Indemnity) and 17 (General) survive termination of this Agreement.
17. General
Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with the refund and privacy policies it refers to, is the whole agreement between us about the Software and replaces anything said or written before it. Its official language is English.
Governing law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules and excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Utah.
Severability and waiver. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that provision is applied as closely as possible to its original intent. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement without our written consent, except that a seat may be transferred under section 2. We may assign it in connection with a sale of the business.
Time limit on claims. Any claim arising out of this Agreement or the Software must be brought within one year of when it arose, unless the law forbids that limit.
